01 - Spread 1 tablespoon softened butter evenly on one side of each bread slice.
02 - Place two bread slices butter-side down. Spread 2 tablespoons pizza sauce on the unbuttered side of each slice.
03 - Arrange mozzarella slices over sauce, add pepperoni if desired, then sprinkle with Parmesan, oregano, and basil.
04 - Top with remaining bread slices, buttered side facing outward.
05 - Heat nonstick skillet over medium heat. Place sandwiches in pan and cook 3–4 minutes per side, pressing gently, until bread turns golden brown and cheese melts completely.
06 - Remove from skillet, let cool briefly, slice diagonally, and serve immediately with extra pizza sauce for dipping.
